Application & Registration Process

In this section, Lowell High School students, families, and staff members will find all the forms and instructions required to enroll in Early College Lowell and register for courses. If you have questions or need assistance completing the paperwork, please contact our support team.


REQUIRED FORMS

To enroll in Early College Lowell and register for courses, the following four documents will need to be submitted for each student:

1. Middlesex Community College Dual Enrollment Application Form

2. English Multiple Measures Form for Dual Enrollment Students

3. Dual Enrollment Registration Form

4. Current Lowell High School Transcript

Middlesex Community College Dual Enrollment Application Form

To enroll in Early College Lowell, students will need to complete and submit a Dual Enrollment Application Form to Middlesex Community College:

  • Click HERE to download the Dual Enrollment Application Form.

  • The application form should be completed electronically and emailed to earlycollege@lowell.k12.ma.us.

  • To submit a print copy of the application form, please email earlycollege@lowell.k12.ma.us for instructions.

  • Students are encouraged to complete the application form with assistance from a parent/guardian, guidance counselor, and/or Early College Lowell staff member.

  • All completed forms should be double-checked to confirm that all information is accurate before they are submitted.

  • The application form needs to be signed by the student, a parent or guardian, the student's guidance counselor, and the LHS Director of Guidance. Application forms will not be accepted if signatures are missing.

  • When the application is approved, early college students will be officially admitted as part-time Middlesex Community College students.

  • Early college students receive a student identification card from MCC, and they are also eligible to participate in all of the college’s programs, clubs, outings, and events—just like any other MCC student.


English Multiple Measures Form for Dual Enrollment Students

The English Multiple Measures Form for Dual Enrollment Students is used to verify that students have met the Early College Lowell eligibility criteria in English Language Arts, and it includes all recommendation forms that need to be completed by Lowell High School faculty and staff:

  • The form should be completed electronically and emailed to earlycollege@lowell.k12.ma.us along with all other required forms.

  • Students will need to meet the Early College Lowell eligibility criteria described on the form.

  • Written and signed recommendations from the student's English teacher and guidance counselor are required.

  • Some early college courses have additional prerequisites and may require a second teacher recommendation.

  • In some cases, students may request a waiver for certain eligibility requirements.

  • Questions about the English Multiple Measures Form for Dual Enrollment Students should be emailed to earlycollege@lowell.k12.ma.us.


Dual Enrollment Registration Form

To formally register for and enroll in specific Early College Lowell courses, students will need to complete and submit a Middlesex Community College Dual Enrollment Registration Form:

  • Click HERE to download the Dual Enrollment Registration Form.

  • The form should be completed electronically and emailed to earlycollege@lowell.k12.ma.us along with all other required forms.

  • Early College Lowell students will receive academic credit from both Lowell High School and Middlesex Community College for every early college course they successfully complete.

  • Students will need their Lowell High School and Middlesex Community College student identification numbers to complete the form.

  • The form needs to be signed by the student, a parent or guardian, and the student's guidance counselor. Registration forms will not be accepted if signatures are missing.

Lowell High School Transcript

A student's Lowell High School transcript is required to enroll in Early College Lowell:

  • Student applicants do not need to submit their transcript—it will be automatically done for them by program staff.

  • The Early College Lowell Support Team will send Middlesex Community College an up-to-date version of every applicant's transcript along with their completed forms.
